Suggest Better Treatment For Dry Cough Of A 4 Year Old
My kid is 4 yrs and weighs 16 Kg.
He is suffering from dry cough for 3 weeks.
first week we gave homeo medicine.no relief.
So we consulted an allopathic Dr .He suggested Taxim o for 3 days(twice daily-3.5ml).
Still it is not reduced.
So we consulted our regular pediatrician .she suggested 7.5 ml Taxim O for 1 week.
Today it will be over, but still cough is there though got reduced a bit.

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. First I want to alley your fears regarding your kid. She could be having a wheeze, as your are saying its prolonged cough. Taxim-O contains Cefixime which is useless for respiratory infections. Most of kids' coughs are viral.
1. 4 years is not an age to diagnose asthma, but could be either multi triggered wheeze or episodic viral wheeze.
2. If it is first time, no harm in using asthalin as it gives good relief.
3. Asthalin or any of the medications used for wheezing in any route either oral or inhalational do not cause dependency or make the patient prone for asthma. Actually its the other way round.
I suggest you stop Taxim-O and start using Syrup. Asthalin.
