Suggest Birth Control Pills Suitable In Case Of Osteoporosis
I am a 22 year old woman (height of 5'9", 130 pounds) who was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 13. I would like to start using birth control pills. There are so many different pills out there and I was wondering if there is a certain type of progestin that I should avoid or if some are better for osteoporosis than others, and what kind of estrogen:progestin ratio I should be looking for. Steroidal contraceptive use has been associated with changes in bone mineral density in women. DMPA and progestin only pills may be avoided.
Combined oral contraceptive pills can be used with caution and after thorough ruling out of other contraindications.
