Suggest Cause For Cramps During Pregnancy

Hi, I am 22 years old, 5 11 , 230 pounds, female and I have a question about cramping. I am approximately 11 weeks pregnant. I have been having severe cramping in my lower abdominal area. I also haven t been having regular bowel movements and when I do have a bowel movement; its not alot at all. Is the cramping normal or is something wrong with me or the baby? Laxatives help very little. What you an I do to ease the cramping? Is this something serious?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. Cramping off and on in lower abdomen during early pregnancy is common. But if the pain is constant and causing severe discomfort, then I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated.
You may need progesterone tablets or injections for relieving the recurrent cramps.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
