Hello,
High uric acid is caused due to intake of purine rich food like red meat, shellfish, bacon,
liver, sweet breads, intake of excess alcohol, beer or liquor, sugary food and beverages, dairy products, etc. To help relieve discomfort like pain, swelling and
numbness due to
gout, cut on alcohol, control blood
glucose level at all cost. Take low purine diet like take fruits, berries, vegetables, cherries, water, coffee, skimmed milk, take rice, pasta, whole cereals. Avoid taking oats.
Exercise regularly. Change in lifestyle and food-habit will help to reduce uric acid and hence discomfort due to it. High uric acid in blood can cause a rise of blood pressure. Control your uric acid level. Get clinically examined by a GP, get required tests done. Get treated at the earliest. As the uric acid level will start reducing swelling and numbness will decrease. You can take
acetaminophen, one stat after food for relief.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
