I have been on tri-sprintec for the past 9 months, and for the last 3 months Ive been noticing some ugly brown spots on my face (not because of the sun). I use SPF 50 everyday and stay out of the sun. If I stop taking this birth control, will the brown spots go away?...or has it permanently damaged my face?
Understanding your concern. As per you query you have brown spots on the face which occurs when sebaceous gland under the hair follicle get blocked as sebum get accumulated in clogged duct of sebaceous gland along with dead skin and bacteria. I would suggest you to wash you face 2-3 times a day with mild soap and warm water to prevent the accumulation of oil ,dust and bacteria on your face. Apply apple cider vinegar then wash with warm water twice daily. If these still persists consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe ointments containing benzyol peroxide, azelaic acid or retinoids. Sometimes docotr may also prescribe antibiotics. Apply vitamin E oil at night. Avoid greasy creams ,use water based products. Don't pick or touch these spots.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
