hello, our 91-year old mother had a venous stasis ulcer on here leg which has been cured with the help of ablation, but skin has been flaking off of her leg for weeks and we can t seem to turn the corner. our question is, how can we stop the flaking and normalize the skin on her leg?
She is suffering from stasis dermatitis. Yes she must use a moisturiser containing Liquid paraffin. She can used it once after bath and once at night. But she can use it more often also.Topical mild steroid cream like mometasone over the affected areas. She must elevate her legs as much as possible especially at night by keeping a pillow underneath. Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy. Regards
