Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I play women s rugby and after A tackle, I landed on my left gluteal muscle and is been painful. This happened a day ago and I couldn t walk after the fact. However today it s a bit better. I take ibuprofen for the pain and I can walk fairly well and run, but squats and lunges hurt and I was wondering if this will heal relatively quickly and if it is nothing serious to worry about?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query.
If you are able to bear the weight on your limb without much pain then a bone injury is unlikely. You need to continue with rest and ice . Most of the times it is a soft tissue injury but it takes at least 3-4 days for the pain to subside.Avoid putting weight and rest well.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
