good evening doctor, I am having a corn on my feet for the last 3 weeks and it is quite painful. I have been suggested to use corn caps, for 3 weeks. But it is still not come off. How long it takes? will this be successful with the corn caps in removing. Pls. suggest. It is very painful.
I can understand your concern for painful corn on feet.
In all cases of corns to be treated the best of side it is very important that it should not be popped or scratched otherwise it can lead to for the infection and spread of the area. In my patients I generally suggest them to apply salicylic acid 17 % or other chemicals as per the depth of the area. In other of the cases I do paring of the skin to remove the dead tissue in various settings.
To remove the corn completely in some cases I prefer to do radio-cautery to remove the area. I suggest you to meet a dermatologist to take care of area in best manner.
All the best.
