He is 40 years old and have Schizophrenia since years. He is showing complaints like feelings that some is talking about him or ideas of reference. These are persistent symptoms of schizophrenia. He is on Olanzapine but is not taking the medicines regularly. His violence and abnormal behaviour is persisting. Some times he also refuse to take medicines. Olanzapine is an antipsychotic drug but due to poor compliance he is not showing response. Medicines like Risperidone which is also an antipsychotic drug can be used in such cases. The medicine is available in liquid tasteless and odourless form. The drug can be given to him by mixing with food. Other medicines like long acting antipsychotics can also be tried. Fluphenazine, Risperidone etc are available in long acting injectable form and can prove useful in his case. Consult a psychiatrist for details of these drugs.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
