Hello, I have been having lower back and andominal pain. I ve had fleshly, bloody mucus in my stools on and off for about three weeks. It feels like pressure in my rectum and I am having a hard time moving my bowels. I am also experiencing fatigue and joint pain. Please let me know if this is normal. Thank you. Anne-Marie
thank you for your question on HCM. what you are experiencing is what is called external haemorroids. It is caused due to a prolapse in the rectal mucosa which is caused due to excessive straining at defecation or due to passage of hard stools.i would suggest you to use lignocaine gel 2% for local application to reduce pain while defeacation.along wih this also use a sitz bath which requires you to pour a capfull of betadine solution in a tub of warm water and sit in it.do this twice a day. in order to ease your bowel movementsi would suggest you include a lot of fibre in your diet(salads and fruits),drink plenty of water and also take ipsaghula husk everyday for two weeks.u have two take a sachet and empty it into a glass of water (150 ml),mix well and drink it straight away.this well help ease your bowel. hope this information was helpful. do get back for further help. regards, Dr.Radhika
