The topical that you are using contains
podophyllotoxin, which is an effective therapy for genital warts.
I don't think
smoking is the real reason behind repeated recurrences.
Genital warts is a viral infection caused by
Human Papilloma Virus (
HPV) and the infection can auto-inoculate on to neighbouring skin, and can cause a recurrence of warts.
Therefore, it is important to remove all the existing warts in order to reduce the source of infection and decrease the chances of these auto-inoculating on to surrounding skin.
As you say that the topical you use is not effective in removing all of the warts, therefore new ones are bound to from left over warts.
I suggest that you visit a venereologist in your region for a review. Other methods of wart removal that can be tried Or combined are either Co 2
Laser vaporization, Radiofrequency cautery and Electrocautery.
