Suggest Diet And Exercise For Heart Disease

My father had a heart attack 3 years ago when he was only 49 years old. Half of his heart is now dead. His doctor told him today that only 18-25% of his heart is functioning. Can u explain further? He is in good spirit and feels good. He still works full time and excersizes regularly. Should he slow down? Cut out the gym? His doctor was very vague with everything. Please help. Thank you. Hello. Welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.

After a heart attack usually some part of heart got permanently damaged and so that affect pumping capacity of heart. Unfortunately EF of 20 % is very low at the age of 49.

Usually at the EF of 20 %, person's exercise capacity should be affected. It's not understandable that he is doing heavy work out at so low heart pumping.

So, my advice to you is - Kindly repeat 2d echo of heart for election fraction. Go for coronary angiography if not and treat any blockage in vessels after consulting your cardiologist.
He should limit his heavy work out.

Thank you.
Have a nice day.
