Suggest Diet And Exercise When Suffering From Type 1 Diabetes
Wow, this is awesome. My friend has had Type 1 diabetes for 25 years. She is way overweight (5'5" @ 252#'s)and eats poorly plus drinks plenty of alcohol. Recently she went to a Naturopath would scared her half to death by telling her she's a heart attack waiting to happen. I am trying to help her with a diet change, exercise program, only 6 ounces of wine daily and threw out her Herbal Life shakes. This all happened two weeks ago and she did lose 7 #'s immediately. She has a pump and receives a basal dose of 34 units with 7-9 units after meals. Her BS has come down about 50% of her readings, but she is getting reading from 60 in the early morning to 350 at night. She's frustrated and so am I.
Dear friend I understand your concern on your friend ... But don't use any shortcuts for weight loss .. Do exercise ..at least walk daily for an hour .. Regularly .. Cut down the alcohol ... Smoking .. She need s to stop eating fast /junk/processed food stuff from now ..avoid carbohydrate rich diet .. Take more of green leafy vegetable s ots and milets ... Try to divide her meal in to 4 to 5 small meals when ever she is hungry .. Has to to take insulin regularly check her HbA1c and mictoalbuminuria levels and do contact us .. Weight loss should be natural way and a continuous one through diet and exercise .. Can't reduce weight too fast .. Must. Show lot s of dedication .. IT IS POSSIBLE ALL THE BEST
