Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.
I appreciate your concern.
-Most pregnant women will experience some degree of nausea or
vomiting during
pregnancy.
-I want to reassure you that nausea and vomiting do not usually harm the fetus. Also, medicines used to treat this condition are not associated with an increased risk of birth defects,
miscarriage, prematurity or other adverse outcomes in pregnancy.
-
Weight loss is common in this condition.
I would advise you some dietary modifications along with medication:-
In most cases, it subsides by the 16th week of pregnancy, although up to 20% of women continue to have symptoms throughout pregnancy.
>10mg
doxylamine plus 10mg
pyridoxine (Envepe). You can take 1 tablet 3 to 4 times a day half hour before meals.
>Mixing solids and liquids can increase nausea and vomiting because it can make the stomach feel fuller and can cause gas, bloating, and
acid reflux. Eating small portions every 1 to 2 hours and eating and drinking separately can be helpful. For example, eat a small portion of food, wait 20 to 30 minutes, then take some liquid.
>take at least 2 litres of fluids daily in small amount.
>donot swallow excessive saliva, as this can increase the symptoms of NVP. Spitting out the saliva and frequent mouth washing can be helpful.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing you good health.
