Suggest Diet Plan For An Elderly Person

I am 61 years old, female who has not had weight issues. I am exercising, eating about 700 calories a day. I eat vegetables, lean meat like chicken and fish. I haven't had any carbs or been salting foods. Normally, I would drop weight. However, I have kept up this routine and have gained another 5 lbs. I do feel some water retention, but not a lot. I take Cymbalta, concerta, and zyrtec.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What problems you are facing with gain in weight could be due to endocrine dysfunction.
It appears to be associated with thyroid.
Otherwise, you should be fine with diet and exercise.
Kindly get your blood for thyroid profile - Free T3, Free T4 and TSH levels.
In case it shows the picture of hypothyroidism, you need to consult Physician for appropriate treatment.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
