Hi Clinton,
Your height of 5 feet and 42 kg weight makes you
Body Mass Index (BMI) 18.1. BMI less than 18.5 is considered
underweight and it needs to be increased to remain in good shape and optimum health.
You should join a gym and exercise regularly. There are exercises that increase the muscle mass and gain weight. A trainer there can teach you those. Take more
proteins, fats and
carbohydrate containing diet, like milk and other dairy products, rice, fruits specially banana, nuts, yogurt, dark chocolate, soybeans, avocado etc.
Have at least 3 meals a day. Have bigger plate and bigger portions. Do not drink water before meals. Do not overeat at a time but keep eating on the gap of 2-3 hours.
Adequate sleep is mandatory as muscle mass is built up during sleeping hours only.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
