Good morning. Yes, this is a very interesting observation. I am hearing that fatty fish makes you feel fine so you are not able to eat fatty fish daily, even a small amount? There are omega 3 fatty acid supplements you may purchase and start keeping a food/symptom/temperature diary. List day, time, foods eaten, current symptoms, temperature. Include timing of medications or supplements. Through this journal one may learn what foods are causing you problems. You can take the journal with you to a Dietitian and review it if the immediate problem is not visable to you. Also, if you feel you do not have enough omega 3s, try supplementing your daily diet with 500 mg DHA and 500 mg EPA (still keeping your journal). You will need follow-up if problems do not go away with supplementation. Please write back giving your location and I will try to help you further after you try my suggestions listed. Hoping this helps guide you. Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN

Hello,

Thanks a lot for your question.
Some excellent sources of omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids include: salmon, tuna, swordfish, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, and herring as well as flaxseeds (linseeds), walnuts, algae (spirulina), flaxseed oil, soybean oil, canola oil and chia seeds.
You should consume at least 1 serving of oily fish per week and use the oils mentioned above in your everyday cooking.
You can also try a good quality omega 3 supplement (for example SOLGAR double strengh Omega 3 - 700 mg).

Thanks a lot
