Suggest Diet Suitable For Hypertension

I am under heavy stress. Working on that. Getting better. I learned that my pulse rate and blood pressure were quite elevated (yeah, working on the stress part). I saw less red meat, more veggies was suggested. Are there certain foods that are best?

Hello,
I can understand your concern and appreciate your attitude towards your health.

If i were your treating physician, i would monitor your BP weekly for a month and if it remains high, then i would have suggested you to start medications like betablocker or ACE inhibitor after checkup of your body. And i would also evaluate your condition every 3 to 6 monthly.

For high BP, i would suggest you to take low salt intake in your diet, take more green leafy vegetables and fruits, avoid oily and junk food, measure blood sugar and lipid profile, take diet rich in vitamins and minerals.

You should also start walking for 40 minutes a day and do meditations to reduce stress. Just try to be stress free and don't take unnecessary tension.

Hope this answers your question and let me know directly if you have any further relevant queries.
