Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
It has been 10 days since i tested positive for typhoid(S and O) and jaundince ( Hepatitis A). The temperature had reduced to normal 5 days back and the medication is came to an end today. I am also a diabetic (7.2 three month average test). My question is my doctor asked me to follow the diabetic diet from tomorrow ( 11th day). He also told me i can have non-veg and eggs. My family feels it is too early for non veg. I wanted to understand what should be the right diet to follow for the next 30 days ? Is it okay to have nonveg, dry fruits like almonds etc., I understand it needs to be less sugar, less oil diet. But if there are specifics i need to take care of please advice
Hi I understand your concern.Since you have just suffered from typhoid fever and are also a diabetic I would advise you to hold off on the non-veg food for now though eggs can be consumed as they will also be a good source of protein.Try to eat only the egg whites and not the yolk part(rich in cholestrol). You can now continue the same diet that you were eating before the Typhoid fever.Just totally avoid oil and fats. Also non-veg items like fish which are more proteins and less fat can be consumed. Dry fruits are a rich source of fats and are best avoided if you are trying to loose weight.
I hope this clarifies your doubts.Feel free to get back to me for any further clarifications and feel free to rate my answer. Thank you.
