Suggest Diet To Follow While Having Genital Herpes
I was reading up on genital herpes and found a lost of food items I shouldn't eat including whole wheat , white flour, and oats so exactly what would that leave for the grains food group ? And does that eliminate bread and pasta and cereal from my diet ?
Genital herpes is caused by a viral infection, which stays in your body and flares up when your immune system is down. This could be due to illness, stress, or even just being run down. I would not recommend cutting out any foods at all unless you are specifically intolerant or allergic to them. There is no benefit of cutting out that whole list of grains unless you have been confirmed to have Coeliac's disease, or have reacted poorly to them in the past.
So go ahead, have fun and eat well. Make sure there is a good balance of vegetables and fruits to go with your grains and proteins. Sleep enough, and don't sweat the small stuff. The stress from thinking of what to eat itself will make you have another flare up. If you really do have problems with stress management, look out for resources on mindfulness or meditation to help you handle it.
Hope this helps, and all the best to you.
Regards, Dr. Teh
