All meats are high in potassium. The meats with the lowest levels are Chicken backs, chicken
liver and ground turkey - all have under 200 milligrams of potassium per serving. - Canned tuna is another idea. One egg is allowed.
Remember to take your
Lasix on an empty stomach for best absorption. If it really bothers your stomach you can take it with a sip of milk.
If you can share what is confusing about the list your doctor gave you, perhaps I can help. First, please clarify your
kidney diagnosis and provide any labs you might have. Perhaps that will give me a better idea what type of diet she wants you to follow. I have given you lists of both low and moderate level potassium foods and the best meats to eat. Make certain you remove all skin. Never eat licorice with your medication.
Oh, and have a beautiful day!
Regards, Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
