Suggest Dosage And Directions To Use For Cytotec To Stop Pregnancy
Sorry to bother you my gf has not gotten het period and im considering cytotec to stop her pregnancy if she is pregnant.i want to know how long should she take it and what should the dose be? Its been 3weeks since we had intercorce and her period was due last week.please help
Hi.welcome to hcm The first thing to do is to confirm the pregnancy by doing a urine pregnancy test. After confirmation, then we can think about termination.Usually for medical termination, two drugs are used-mifepristone and misoprostol. It is strongly advised you take these medicine only under the supervision of a physician or gynaecologist as there can sometimes be fatal complication like bleeding etc. The regimen usually followed is to give 600 mg of mifepristone on the first visit i.e day 1, then wait for 48 hours and then if abortion has not occured 400 microgram of misoprostol(cytotec) is given. Then on day 14, a follow up is done to ascertain whether complete termination has occurred or not by clinical examination and ultrasound scan and if not then other measures like dilation and curratage has to be considered. Hope this helps.
