Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently tried to O.D. on 80 100m.g. Dilantin, then after spending 3 days hospital I was released and told to continue taking meds as prescribed. 1 pill in the morning and 3 at night. For about 7 days after that I experienced a strong taste of salt in the morning and a strong taste of sugar at night would last for 2-3 hours, it has stopped happening in the last 6 days. Should I be concerned or not.
Welcome and thanks for the consult. I appreciate your concerns. I have reviewed your query about bad taste in mouth after taking medications. It may be a temporary side effect or due to something else. But as it has stopped 6 days back then there is nothing to worry about and there apparently is no need to change the medication dosage. Take medications as prescribed by your Physician.
Hope it helps. Ask for more if you have doubts or questions. My direct and quick link is: tinyurl.com/drhanifmd
