Suggest Dosage For Flucloxacillin

I have been taking flucoxicillin t 500 mg x 4x daily for 3years for staph skin infection and the last 6months been regularly taking 1000mg x 4day my gp said it can damage my liver I have loose stools how long should I take this dose for ss im stoll suffering with pustules/ staph infection

Both older age (>55 years) and a prolonged duration of flucloxacillin treatment (>14 days) are known risk factors for liver injury which can happen many weeks after stopping the antibiotics.
First, see if the staph is even sensitive to the antibiotic. Around here, it would be at most about 50/50 sensitive. With long use one might accumulate the germs the antibiotic did NOT kill.
Second, the diarrhea is frequently a SERIOUS side effect of the antibiotic and cannot be continued.
Then, the type of liver toxicity from the drug is from it clogging up the liver and this has symptoms and lab tests that would show if it is occurring.
You probalby wont be on the antibiotic after the testing ....so......
