Suggest Dosage For Norethisterone To Avoid Periods When One Needs To Travel In Two Days

Hi, i m actually going overseas in 2 days time for a 5 day 4 night trip and i will be doing water activities. Currently, I am left with 8 tablets of norethisterone. Is it okay if I limit the dosage to just 1 pill a day instead of 3 so I will not get my period during the trip? My period is irregular which makes it difficult for me to estimate when my period is supposed to arrive.

Hi,

In case you are on a monthly course of Norethisterone, bleeding would start in 1-7 days of stopping the pill. In that case, you can continue with a single pill of the pill. It will go for 8 more days & your purpose would be served.

However, in case you want to start taking the pill 2 days before your travel, you need a higher dose 2 to 3 pills a day regularly till you want to prevent bleeding (in consultation of a gynecologist after giving full information of your cycle).
