Tablet Normaxin ( Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium Bromide, and Dicyclomine) is a combination of anti-anxiety drug Chlordiazepoxide and anti-spasmodics i.e. Clidinium Bromide, and Dicyclomine and is used for Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) .The drug provides temporary relief for symptoms such as painful cramps related to intestinal spasm, having efficacy in some patients. It is not a cure for IBS. Synthetic anticholinergics such as dicyclomine has less effect on mucous membrane secretions and produce fewer undesirable side effects and hence preferred. You need not continue Normaxin for indefinite period.Anticholinergic like Clidinium Bromide may cause xerostomia, urinary hesitancy and retention, blurred vision, and drowsiness. They should be used in the elderly with caution.
