usually dosage of resperidone for autism in a person weighing more than 20 kg is from 0.5 mg to 3 mg per day.it is given in divided doses to prevent drowsiness.this is given for the treatment of irritability associated with autistic disorder, including symptoms of aggression towards others, deliberate self-injuriousness, temper tantrums, and quickly changing moods.based on his age, weight and height with 2 mg dose per day catching public transport will not be a problem if he is in stable stage.but if he is in initial period of starting this medicine it may be difficult for him to catch public transport but driving and operating with machinery has to be avoided when taking this medicine. aropax also carries side effect of dizziness, drowsiness. His treating dr can judge aptly and correctly regarding all this and it is better you discuss all with his treating dr.
