iam using acitrom 3mg tablet which was prescribed for secondary pulmonary embolism due to tibial fracture.iam hypertensive and iam reguraly using telma- h 40 mg and controlled by it.pulmonoligst saying use acitrom for 6 months.one of the cardiologist saying use acirom for one year.iam fear about side effects,please suggest me exact duration of time of its use.age 54 years

Patients with PE (Pulmonary embolism) after surgery, trauma(as in your case) ordinarily have a low rate of recurrence after 3–6 months of anticoagulation.Hence 3 to 6 months of anticoagulation (with acitrom-oral anticaogulant) is sufficient.
