Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my grndma has broken her leg and she is on bed with an eqiupment attached that pulls the bone to bring it in exact position. now she is unable to do toilet in the toilet pan. is there any other equipment for her to pass the toilet without letting it flow on bed?
Yes, her doctor can recommend a foley catheter that goes into her bladder and then directs the urine into a bag. Bowel movements are a more complicated problem. If she can not use a bed pan for the bowel movements you may need to get some plastic sheeting to put under her to keep the sheets from getting soiled.Good luck.
