Suggest Food Items To Be Had While Suffering From Acid Reflux

Hi I have had heartburn most of the day and I would like to know what would be the best food to eat tonight at dinner that will not make it worse? I have a prescription for heartburn but ran out a few days ago and haven't had the chance to refill it.
Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First at all I will suggest to avoid all fast food, snack food, fried food (potatoes, peppers, etc.) also avoid alcohol and sparkle juices. I will suggest to have a healthy diet with a lot of soup, vegetables and fruit. Also plenty of water and natural juices especially during the summer. You should eat dinner before 19:30 and try to eat frequently during the day but in small amount and of course healthy food. So for tonight a chicken soup would be a good idea.

Hope the best for you.
