Suggest Healthy Diet To Promote Weight Gain In A Child
hello, my girl baby is 22 months old and weighs 11kgs. Her birth weight was 2.75 kgs. Is her weight normal? She eats dhal rice, curd rice, a slice of bread or dosai or chappathi, a vegetable, a fruit or a fruit juice and porridge in a day. Is there any food that i can add on to help her gain better weight?
Welcome to HCM, 1.Firstly every child is different in the way they grow and mature. As per your child her weight is absolutely fine. 2.Regarding her diet I would not recommend you to give her bread as it can irritate her stomach lining and also cause constipation. Also fruit juices have hardly any nutrition,so would strictly recommend you to give her fruits instead. 3.You can help her gain weight by giving her adequate carbs and good quality proteins.Foods recommended for her are nachni or rawa porridge, dhal rice, soft chappatis, khichdi, thick vegetable soup, idlis, yogurt, milkshakes(banana or chickoo). 4.Also replace sugar with jaggery in her foods.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further clarification I would be happy to help.
