Suggest Healthy Proteins For A Pre-diabetic

Hi! I am a 65 year old woman, 5 1 and weigh 201 pounds. Both parents died from heart disease, my father was a diabetic. I just had my annual appt. with my primary care physician, and after having blood work drawn, she told me that I am pre-diabetic and have fat on my liver. Up until I got married at 20 and started cooking for the first time, I was slim and trim. I grew up on a lake and spent my summers skiing, swimming, riding motorcycles, etc. Never thought much about food. My diet for the last 30 years has been totally unhealthy - my food comes out of either a bag or a box - fast food and carbs. I do want/need to finally take my health seriously and want to know if you would recommend healthy proteins for me. Thanks Just got to 2nd page - WILL NOT PAY FOR ANSWER.

Healthy proteins will not fix years of abuse, but rather a commitment to losing weight, develong better eating habits using portion control and the avoidance of added sugars.

Healthy, lean proteins, to answer your question include the white meats of turkey, chicken (no skin), fish, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, legumes.
