Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
This cream is a combination of 3 ingredients i.e tretinoin,
hydroquinone and mometasone and is a gold standard combination for treatment of
hyperpigmentation and melasma.
However, it should never be used without the supervision of a dermatologist because it can lead to side effects if used regularly for more than 1-2 months.
Hydroquinone and tretinoin are irritants and can cause redness, burning sensation, sun-sensitivity, and skin peeling; mometasone on the other hand is a potent steroid and can cause skin thinning/atrophy, acne, rosacea, hirsutism etc.
Therefore I suggest you to
consult a dermatologist before using it. A dermatologist usually advises this combination not for more than 1 or 2 months and thereafter substitutes it with other safer alternatives with ingredients like
kojic acid,
glycolic acid, arbutin etc as a maintenance treatment.
Besides using a pigment lightening cream I would also suggest that you use a broad spectrum sunscreen throughout the day to prevent further sun induced tanning and hyperpigmentation.
You may also opt for a few sessions of chemical peeling from your tretaing dermatologist. Glycolic peel as well as tretinoin peel are excellent skin lightening/pigment reducing peels.
