Hello and Congratulations. During pregnancy you should concentrate on obtaining adequate, but not excessive nutrients. If you are already overweight before pregnancy yes try to limit your weight gain. Make certain you have enough folic acid in your system prior to conception if at all possible as well as iodine. Cellulite is generally a genetic condition caused by the fat being to close to the skin. Toning up may help the appearance and will help you control that undesirable excess weight gain. If you are overweight before you get pregnanct in the US we try to keep the weight gain down to 15 pounds. Those US women less than 25 BMI can gain up to 30 pounds or so if their blood sugars are under control. Eat nutrient dense foods like vegetables, milk or milk substitute, protein, grains, fruit. Hope this helps, Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN
