This is not really high but is definitely in the earl stages. As you have already started diet and exercise has helped. The next step would be to start medication. In my practice I start my patients on metformin. This is a great medication that will help reduce your blood sugars and improve your overall health.
For diet I recommend a diet of 1800 calories or less depending on your size and body type. You can down load diet sheets from the American diabetes society. There are also several books and apps on diabetes meals.
