Suggest Measures To Manage The Pain And Swelling From A Possible Tooth Abscess While Waiting For An Emergency Dental Appointment
I am in alot of pain with my front tooth, which is a porcelain cap. The gum is swollen an inflamed. I am taking paracetamol, ibuprofen and regular salt either dabbed in infected area or as a mouthwash. I think I have an abscess and possibly need the tooth removed. What else can I do whilst waiting to try and get an emergency dental appointment? The pain is now radiating up to my nose. Many Thanks
As you have mentioned an abscess, so you need an antibiotic with serrati-peptidase combination of Diclofenac Sodium or Acelofenac. Abscess has high tendency to spread so in couple of days there may be visible swelling on face as well. Take Amoxicillin Clauvanic acid combination 8hourly with Acelofenac 100mg+ serratid-peptidase 15mg + paracetamol 325mg combination 12 hourly for 3 days.
Moreover, do Hydrogen peroxide 1.2% gargles twice daily for 5 days. This will ease your symptoms and then you can see a dentist. There is no need to get worried. However in case you are allergic to these medicines do write us and accordingly we can help you.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
