My wife is suffering from SLE nephritis, she is pregenant at 7 weeks. Her hb count is 8000 & albumin is 4+. As per the doctor the pregenancy is high risk. We both do not intend to do aborption. Kindly suggest what should be done. She is 25 years old, 64 kg, 5'3" hieght
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Pregnancy with SLE nephritis is a high risk pregnancy and has to be managed at a tertiary care centre. Lupus nephritis needs proper treatment with steroids and antihypertensives. Serum creatinine needs to be done to assess the renal function, if more than 2.5. mg/dl then termination of pregnancy should be done for maternal well being. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
