Suggest Medication For An Infection Around The Anus
Hi, My 4 year old daughter has down syndrome. She has a ring around her anus. I had her tested for a milk allergy, she came up negative. Since she still gets loose stools and gas. I give her latrose free milk- but continue to give her milk - foods like cookies, mac and cheese etc. What do I try? thanks

A ring-like lesion around the anus may be due to fungal infection. Always try to keep the bottom clean and dry. You can apply antifungal cream for the infection. Also, give her antihelminthic drug (a drug to kill intestinal worm) every 6 months.
