Suggest Medication For Breathlessness And Sleeplessness Due To Sinus
I was sick with a cold and it turned into a sinus infection. Now, I am starting to feel a little better as far as the congestion goes but I am having trouble breathing, making it difficult to sleep because it causes sleep apnea. When I take a very deep breath in, I feel a slight tickle in my chest and that causes me to cough. Once I cough it feels better for a minute but then it happens again. It also seems as though I am having heart palpitations, but I am not sure. I am currently on an antibiotic and I am hoping this will help.
Hi, Welcome to heak the healthcare magic. I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern. The symptoms could be due to sinius infection. The frequent throat clearing and cough could be due to post nasal drip of sinus infection. Frequent cough could cause palpitations sometimes. Nothing to worry. You will be fine. I recommend the following. 1) If you are already on antibiotics, complete the course. 2) Antihistamines like levocetrizine with phenylephrine. 3) Oxymetazoline nasal drops. Don't use this continuously for more than 6 days. 4) Steam inhalation to improve sinus ventilation and drainage.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a speedy recovery and good health.
Regards, Dr Paparaja S MBBS MS
