Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding blocked ear with cold.

By your symptoms it appears that you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection with eustachian tube dysfunction. In cold there is always post nasal drip which causes throat infection and this inflammation in throat blocks the pharyngeal opening of eustachian tube therefore spontaneous ventillation of middle ear suffers and this is felt by patient as ear blockade.

To get relief from it you should do-

1- Steam inhalation.

2- Anti inflammatory.

3- Anti histaminic and decongestants.

4- Antibiotic.

I am very hopeful that you will get good responce of above treatment.

Regards.
