Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi,I am on Cymbalta (Duloxetine) 60 mg. I have been sick for 3 days with a very bad cold and can t sleep at night. Can I take the nightime multi - symptom Cold & Flu Walgreens brand? It has Acetaminophen 325mg Dextomethorphan HBr 15mg and Doxylamin succinate 6.25 mg
Hi! The medicament that you are using (Cymbalta) has interactions with two of the ingredients of the preparation for the cold treatment: Dextromethorphan and Doxylamine soccyonate. This can lead to undesirable effects. So I would recommend you to not use Cold & Flu Walgreens brand. I would recommend you to use Acetaminophen only. Also you can use herbal tea to help with cough. If the situation does not improve, then you should consult a doctor. I wish you get better soon and I hope that my answer will be helpful! Thank you for using HealthcareMagic! Regards, Dr. P. Cerri
