Suggest Medication For Cough And Sore Throat?

my son has had a bad cough for the last 10 days, non productive. Last night he vomited whilst coughing. He saw the GP last week (7 days in) who confirmed chest clear, the vomiting is a new issue. He has stomach ache from the coughing (to be expected) he is taking day nurse, strepsils and normal soothers for the sore throat and cough but it does not seem to be clearing. Are there any other over the counter medications I can administer to assist him to control this until it clears?

Hello,

An antiacid would help improve acid reflux and also the cough, which is commonly associated to acid reflux. Another issue to consider would be an allergy reaction. For this reason, I would recommend taking an anti-histamine like loratadine, etc.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
