Suggest Medication For Cough

hello doctor ,i the mother of two childrens. Both are females. one is 10yrs and another kid is 3yrs now. 2nd kid is suffering from cough since from 10days i should to ENT doctor also he suggested to show to plumologist. i continued to show her their. but no use what to do now doctor

Hello,

If after consulting pulmonologist, the cough is persisting, then, send her to the ER as she needs immediate investigations and prescription meds. Maybe she might need to get hospitalized.

You can't do much at home but need immediate medical help. Meanwhile, you should give her:

- plenty of fluids and water to keep well hydrated, adding oral rehydration salts can help
- mucolytics to dissolve phlegm (herbal or just containing carbocystein)
- antihistamines for the coughing at night
- run aerosoltherapy.
