Hello, I am a healthy 25-year-old female. I do not drink or smoke. I have had regular periods since I first began my cycle when I was in third grade. Last year, I skipped three months, and did visit my GYN. I was not pregnant, and they chalked it up to stress. I am not on any medication, or any hormonal birth control. I am sexually active. I have taken several home pregnancy tests in the past - all negative. I have now not had a period since December - over 5 months. I have never had this happen before. As I mentioned, I am not on any medication or birth control, but am not pregnant. Is there a way to get my period to start? It feels like it could come any minute, and I feel a dull ache in my uterine area. It has some pressure, and sometimes I feel like I am leaking but when I go to the bathroom, it s very wet, but no period - it s a false alarm. A friend told me Melformin (sp) helped her. Would that help me in my situation? My husband and I are trying to conceive our first baby. It s super hard without a period! Help?
