Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been depressed for last 11 years, since my parents passed away it has been worse . I have no ambition to do anything..... my excuse is always don t have the $$$$. I also don t have any friends that I could go out with and enjoy life. My biggest problem is that I always worry about my children, everyone else but don t think of myself. BTW I am a Health care aid and work in a supportive housing for seniors. I don t know what I should do. Should I seek help from a psychologist, pshyciatrist???
You should seek consultation of a psychiatrist because you are showing many symptoms of Depressive Disorder. He/she will evaluate you. He/she will also counsel you about your condition and prescribe you medicines if needed. If you work as caregivers for seniors, it may add to your overall stress. You need to talk to other caregivers or join caregivers support group. This will also help reduce your stress. I hope this answers your question.
