Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am dippression patient my doctor prescribed me DICORATE ER 250 (sodium extended release tablets),c pram s -10&petril md 0.25.but i knew that these psychatric medicines are addiction, i know the hormone produced by brain - ceratonin is the problem here let me suggest a way to avoid these medicines
Depression in a case of bipolar disorder or a person with propensity to develop bipolarity usually requires a mood stabilizer which is sodium valproate in your case along with an antidepressant c pram. These two drugs do not cause addiction or dependence even on taking for a long time. Petril may cause dependence if taken for a long time. You may consult your doctor and stop petril if it is not required.
Hope this helps, Dr A Rao
