Hello Ever since I was a kid I used to wake up everynow and again with daihorrea in the middle of the noght. But then Id be back to normal soon after.. its now effecting my work life and I would like to know what's wrong and how to avoid the issue.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. This is quite an odd and rare presentation of any problem having to get up in the night for diarrhea and no problems thereafter. This may be due to changed body clock, intolerance to something in the foods and beverages that you take or colitis like IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get the stool tested and other tests of blood, ultrasonography and colonoscopy. If there is any evidence of infection, get a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics. If the stool test is normal and other tests so not show any positive results, you may be probably have function bowel disease and may be related to the stress and anxiety. Consult your Gastroenterologist and get treatment accordingly.
