I had colon surgery a month ago to remove the sigmoid section due to diverticulosis and a fatty hernia behind my belly button. My surgeon told me to take Metamucil twice a day and Meralax once a day. I was doing okay until this past week when I starting having diarrhea and stopped both medicines. Last evening I was doing better so took only one dose of Metamucil. Now I have diarrhea again. My stool also smells really bad. What do you suggest.
