Hello
Thankyou for your question to Healthcaremagic.
I can understand your concern.
You seem to be suffering from
Dyspepsia.
I would advise you to do the following-
1. Appropriate diet changes - Bland diet avoiding spicy food, tea, coffee etc.
2. Review medications you are taking - Avoid NSAIDs (commonly used as painkillers)
3. Begin a
Proton Pump Inhibitor such as
Omeprazole 20 mg half an hour before food, once a day for 2 weeks and review with your physician.
4 . Avoid smoking and alcohol intake.
If you do not get relief with these measures you may need a Urease
breath test to check for H. Pylori Infection which is also a treatable condition.
At any point if you have any bleeding / continuous
vomiting / unintentional weight loss/ difficulty in swallowing , it is better you meet a gastroenterologist for further workup.
Hope this information is helpful. Take care.
