Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having a problem with my blood pressure going up a lot. I went to the doctor because I was having breathing problems , with severe left hand pain upon wakening every morning. my breathing is normal now, but I went to the doctor today to have it checked. My blood pressure was high 150/100. He did an EKG. Was normal except a heartbeat about 107. He said not to worry about it, and increased my bp meds.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. As you having tachycardia along with hypertension and radiating pain to left arm you should get an ECG to rule out any cardiac problems. Echocardigraphy should be carried out in case of any positive signs. Beta blocker will be helpful to control your hypertension as well as to decrease the heart rate. If still BP is not controlled then ACE inhibitor or Angiotensin receptor blocker can be added along with it. A consultation with a cardiologist is well appreciated in your case. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
